Sun Valley, Idaho Elopement
Planning is absolutely an essential part of creating a beautiful boho elopement (Check out my guide to planning a Sun Valley elopement here!) but there is so much to be said for the unknown, too. For following the flicker of something beautiful off path, for throwing away the map, & for allowing a day to take its own wild shape. That’s what we did for this boho elopement in the Sawtooth Mountains.
I found a dirt road near Sun Valley that opened up to these incredible mountain views, so I sent Mallory & Sawyer a dropped map pin & met them there. I helped them get ready as the spring breeze blew the wildflowers around us. Wildflower season in the Sawtooths is the perfect setting for a boho elopement – Mallory’s flowing dress & vivid bouquet was echoed in the beauty all around.
Exploration Was at the Heart of this Boho Elopement
We walked around examining each scene, taking our time to soak everything in, until we found a spot perfect for their vow exchange: a path surrounded by wildflowers at the base of the mountain range. The flowers were in full bloom in the Sawtooths, and we wanted to soak up their vibrant color at sunset.
After the vows, a storm rolled over the mountains, & we got to watch the clouds turn deep blues & indigos as lightning filled them with color. We admired it from a distance where we stayed completely dry. Somehow, the drama & epic grandeur of the storm felt fitting to this passionate boho elopement.
