North Cascades Proposal and Engagement Session
Brittany and Shawn both love hiking and getting out into nature, and they dream of moving into the mountains, so it was so special to get to introduce them to a landscape that resonated in their hearts. I planned their timeline & locations for each day, which was really important because they were from Texas & I was excited to show off these areas of WA that they were seeing for the first time. We spent two days exploring some of my favorite scenery around WA, and by the end of the trip, I think they were a little in love with this region’s crystal blue waters and deep forests.
This Proposal Was Full of Joy
Their North Cascades proposal happened on the first day – they climbed an overlook over the lake, and I snuck into a perch across from them where I could get the perfect shot of the moment! There was such sparkling happiness to the whole moment. When Shawn got down on one knee, all the onlookers cheered!
The next day we headed into the Olympic Peninsula to celebrate their North Cascades proposal with an engagement session. In general, I love it when couples book their engagement session as soon after their proposal as possible. There’s this shimmer of joy & excitement like a current between them in that season, and it’s just so fun to photograph. You can definitely see it here in Brittany and Shawn – in the wake of their North Cascades proposal, their engagement shoot was giddy with excitement. They kept linking hands and escaping deeper into the forest, ready to explore beyond the horizon.
All in all, it was a real privilege to get to plan and photograph this North Cascades proposal and the whole trip around it!
