Chelsea & Nolan: Mountain Engagement

Chelsea & Nolan: Mountain Engagement

If you’ve spent any amount of time on my website, you’ve noticed my (slight) favoritism toward the Olympic National Park when it comes to planning a mountain engagement session. This isn’t just a routine I’ve settled into…I believe wholeheartedly that there aren’t many places in the world like it. It feels otherworldly in the best possible way, and I love getting to experience it alongside my couples — whether it’s their first time in the Pacific Northwest, or they’ve made countless memories as a couple in its forests. Chelsea and Nolan are the latter, and even got engaged at the exact spot that these photos are taken in! To recreate the moment, I helped them location scout a bit further and pick the perfect spot in the Olympics to just breathe in this sweet time of engagement and celebrate just the two of them for an evening.

A love story turned mountain engagement

Chelsea and Nolan are truly some of the kindest people I have ever met. Their love for each other is palpable and you feel warmer and more hopeful just being around them. They became fast friends, and their engagement session is one of my favorite memories because of all the beauty we experienced together — golden sunlight, rows of majestic mountain peaks, the fresh smell of pine trees, and witnessing lots of laughs and embraces.

Chelsea is from Tacoma, WA and Nolan is from Naples, FL, so about as far away as you can be in the U.S. They met during their first year of physical therapy school at Washington University in St. Louis, then began the trek out to Washington state to start the next phase of their life. Their first trip as a couple was to Olympic National Park, where they car camped and explored their new wilderness home together.

Why have an engagement session in the Olympics?

Why make the mountains of this national park the backdrop to your love story? The photos tell the story better than I can, but I’ll sum it up with this: breathtaking scenery has the unique ability to slow you down, snap you into living in the present, and open your heart to the magic in the world. I believe that there isn’t a better place in the world to reflect on your journey than the mountains.

I’d love to help you experience this. My mission is to create experiences for my clients that allow them to both find rest and feel alive. I’d love to connect and make this a reality for you and your loved one!
